Interpreting Services

Photo of interpreters at Seattle Lighthouse The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. is the largest employer of DeafBlind people in North America. The Interpreting Services Department employs full-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters skilled in working with DeafBlind people at our Seattle facility. In addition to our in-house interpreting staff and schedulers, the Lighthouse uses the services of freelance ASL interpreters to meet the needs of DeafBlind employees. All interpreters provided are qualified with specialized knowledge and experience in interpreting with DeafBlind people, and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct (code of ethics) with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).  The Interpreting Services Department also provides spoken language interpreters for employees who require a language other than English.
