Throughout 2012, the Lighthouse made significant advancements in our strategic initiative to develop service businesses under our strategic plan. The Lighthouse operates two Contract Management Support (CMS) services in San Diego, CA. We are currently closing out contracts for both the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Command downtown on North Harbor Drive and the Defense Contracting Management Agency in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. The Lighthouse has two contracts that employ 14 employees, most of whom are legally blind. CMS services help mitigate the critical government shortage of contract specialists by focusing on providing post-contract award administration support services that are not inherently governmental functions.
We also saw growth in another area of our service business, our Contact Center at Seattle Lighthouse. The Contact Center continues to perform surveys by phone for the Navy, and kicked off a new contract to perform sales calls for a local catering company. Our Contact Center consistently provides outstanding service for our internal customers, and we are excited about expanding this skill set to serve more external partners in 2013.
