The Inland Northwest Lighthouse (INL) is rapidly approaching its two-year anniversary this summer! Our first satellite operation, the INL has helped to expand job opportunities to blind people across Washington State. Hiring the first blind employee at INL in June 2008, today we employ 54 blind individuals in Spokane and plan to add more jobs in the year to come. Products currently manufactured at the INL include wallboards, file folders, binders, paper trimmers, and easels.
The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. relies on generous community members to sustain and grow employment opportunities for blind people in the Eastern Washington area. To find out how you can help, please contact Annual Fund and Grants Manager Kathryn Wiegel at (206) 436-2116 or via e-mail at kwiegel@seattlelh.org.
